[edit] Movie images in Tolkien articles

I'm not sure it is necessarily a good idea to use movie images for Tolkien characters. The movie images are pervasive enough—the articles are about the characters, who may not have been portrayed accurate in the films. Then there's the copyright status of the images—they may be fair use, but it's somewhat ambiguous, I think. -Aranel ("Sarah") 02:15, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image source/licensing for Image:Boyd2.jpg

The image you uploaded, Image:Boyd2.jpg, has no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

[edit] Boyd Image

I see that you didn't copyright your image, they were just on my case about that a day ago, anyways try to give me the source of where you found your image, exact webpage and I'll do the copyright template and the rest so they won't delete it because its a really good image. Just swing it by my talkpage if you get a chance. Thanks! User: Patman2648 talk 19:25, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
