I want to start this page to promote Anwar Robinson..... what are your comments about him and what do you think about this article on the previous page???? I think whether or not he's gay is not a subject for the public to talk about or for the writers to write about....

Thanks

Wikipedia is not a place to "promote" anyone or anything. This article is an encyclopedia biography. As such it should have all the significant information about its subject. You haven't given any reason why his sexuality is irrelevant to his life. -Willmcw 20:26, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC)
If you want to start a promotional page, wikipedia is not the place. Feel free to start it up at another location, such as geocities. If you think your page is good enough, you can create a link to it here -- but if others disagree, it may be removed. Anwar is open about his sexuality by all reports; so for wikipedia not to include it would be strange. It's not good or bad, it's just a fact. --Quasipalm 21:05, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Just so everyone knows, Anwar isn't gay and he has said it. According to an article that can be found on idolforums.com, he was asked about this and his answer was that he paid no attention to it and that it was made up. Thought I'd let ya know.
If you can find the URL for the original article then we can include it as a source for his denial. -Willmcw 23:33, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
I don't think it was an article, from the way it was worded it sounded like a TV interview or something, but the snip-it was found here:

http://idolforums.com/index.php?showtopic=339619&st=20 Sorry I don't know how to "Sign" my responses. I'm kinda new here.

You can sign your posts by typing four tildes "~". I didn't see the quote from Robinson at the linked page - is that the right one? -Willmcw 23:44, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
It should be like the third one down. Post 23 to be exact. The person that posted that "quoted" that from somewhere, I'd just post exactly what he said here, but I don't know if I'm allowed to do so. Mmmboots9 00:35, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
You mean this line- "He may be but I can dream. He never said that he is gay."? No, that would not be acceptable because it is from a forum. See: Wikipedia:reliable sources. Something like People magazine, Salon.com, or similar source would be better. (your signature looks good.) -Willmcw 00:45, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
We should definitely add any comment from Robinson about his orientation, but we shouldn't remove sourced material. -Willmcw 00:52, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Nevermind, it is an article! It was from Pulse Weekly! Here is the URL:

http://www.pulseweekly.com/article_read.asp?id=3401 Something about "personal life speculation" and he says it himself. There you have it -Mmmboots9 14:52, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

That's an excellent source. But let's not go beyond what he says. He says that he doesn't give any credence to speculation about his personal life . He doesn't say anything one way or another about his orientation. -Willmcw 17:53, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

The question of Anwar's sexual orientation is resolved at THIS link: http://www.afterelton.com/TV/2005/3/robinson.html Also, for Anwar to say "[he] paid no attention to it and that it was made up" is NOT in and of itself a denial. It is a non-answer. This statement was made while he was competing to win American Idol, so surely you could understand hwo a person would be less than forthcoming while trying to win a competition! But a pucture is worth a thousand words!

Let's try to be more diplomatic about this. Robinson neither has confirmed nor denied these reports, so the article should address the issue from the same stance. It should be said that "while speculation has been made about Robinson based on what is believed to be an ad from a dating site, he has neither confirmed nor denied his sexual orientation." With all of the slanderous materials out there (for many Idol contestants) it could also be speculated that it was falsely made up. Without Robinson's confirmation, it's all just speculation.BrwnSgr288 08:03, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

I have sourced it, including fact that he has been openly gay since high school as was previously mentioned. Michael 07:20, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Or is there something else? Michael 08:09, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
