[edit] About Anvil
Anvil is a beautiful city and is the political capitol of County Anvil. It is the Westernmost city in Cyrodiil, located along the Abecean Sea. The Great Chapel of Dibella, where followers of the Divines seek her blessing, dominates its skyline. Anvil has a local guildhall for both the Mages' Guild and the Fighters' Guild. In the eastern part of the city lies the ominous Benirus Manor, whose owners seem all too ready to sell it. In the northeast portion of Anvil lies the Statue of The Selkie of West Ferry, who is said to guide sailors along the Gold Coast. Castle Anvil, home of Countess Millona Umbranox, lies on a small island just to the south of the city.
Anvil is a major port city in Cyrodiil. It has a large Waterfront district just outside of the city walls. There sailors can spend a night at the Fo'c'sle or Flowing Bowl Inns, or spend some of their extra septims at Lelle's Quality Merchandise. The Waterfront is also home to the haunted ship Serpent's Wake and the pirate ship The Sea Tub Clarabella, as well as a large lighthouse.
[edit] Countess Umbranox
Countess Millona Umbranox is well-loved by all her people. Unfortunately, her huband, Count Corvous Umbranox, disappeared mysteriously a decade ago. While she is greived by her loss, she does not allow it to interfere with her duties as Countess.
Once the protagonist has completed all of the Thieves' Guild quests, Corvus Umbranox is revealed to be the Gray Fox himself, but when he puts on his magic hood, he lost his identity to the curse.
[edit] Player-owned Items in Anvil
A manor available for sale costs 5,000 gold, but is haunted. If the protagonist wishes to furnish the house, he must kill several ghosts and the spirit of Logren Bernius. This house must be bought from a private citizen, unlike all the other houses in Cyrodiil, which must be bought from a representative of the County.
Horses cost 4000 gold and are white horses.
