Anuha Island Resort

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anuha Island Resort was located on Anuha Island in the province of Malaita in the Solomon Islands. It was an Australian-owned luxury resort that had its own airport, charter boat fleet and airline. The resort was burned down over a land ownership dispute in 1988. Throughout the past years, plans have existed to re-open the resort but these never came to execution.

The Resort was initially developed by Queensland based businessmen John Donnelly and Peter Cornish. It was a major drawcard for tourism in the region. Ownership later changed hands over the course of the Resort's history. It played host to a number of well-known identities and celebrities.

Anuha Island is one of the most beautiful Islands in the world, and remains a popular dive location.
