[edit] Speaking of userpage vandalism...Gotcha! Melchoir 01:30, 9 November 2006 (UTC) [edit] AdopteeYa i think ive got it under control so you can adopt someone else.thanks for all the help. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vikingboy0129 (talk • contribs) 05:19, 10 December 2006 (UTC). [edit] Autoblocks and Adopt-a-User4 - yikes. I bet that was upsetting - I'm not sure what I would do. I suppose you have to email in or go to the IRC channels to get it removed. In terms of the criteria it is really a given. As they are likely to be guidelines - if someone shows they have acted in good faith I doubt anyone will mind them adopting I took on board your ideas of increasing the number of edits - but I didn't go for a 1000 - I went for the middle ground I think. Its a difficult one because someone with 1000 edits could still be "immature", and someone with 250 and IP experience very "mature". Must say I was shocked with the Users with 7 and 22 adoptees respectively. Not sure how to approach the situation especially the Admin with 22! I struggle with 3 - but then one is in the middle of a revert war and is a suspected sockpuppet - just look at the mess on my talk page! Maybe that is something we should add to the criteria - can only have 4 (or whatever) adoptees any more and you should suggest to your adoptee that they should get another one (i.e. co-adoption). Anyway I would like to ask on a personal note, because I am anxious in a way. Do you think the development of the project is going okay, are we or I moving too fast. Anyway hope you are well. [edit] Your messageThanks. I see it as a small blip on an otherwise impressive editing record. Rest assured, should you decide on a future RfA, you will have my support. Rockpocket 00:23, 11 December 2006 (UTC) [edit] My RfAThanks for the vote. Let's see what happens... Tonywalton | Talk 10:51, 11 December 2006 (UTC) [edit] Adoption, IIThank you for adopting me. !! [edit] Re: AdoptionHi there; while I feel we three are all broadly in agreement, wouldn't it be nice if someone else showed some interest?!!?--Anthony.bradbury 21:49, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Now you listen hear, i'll right whatever i bloody want—The preceding unsigned comment was added by SmokeyPirate (talk • contribs). [edit] Thank you very muchThank you so much for your support of keeping the Examination of Holocaust denial article. Several members of my family died in the Holocaust, and I spent 3 days in 1999 at Auschwitz-Birkenau, where I saw first hand that Holocaust denial and anti-Semitism are still rampant in the world. Any article (and this is a very well written one) that helps to debunk the deniers is worth keeping, in my opinion. Thanks again. You have re-affirmed my faith in humanity. Jeffpw 08:40, 13 December 2006 (UTC) [edit] VandalismEh, he's been warned and the attack page deleted. We shall see if he continues. Shimgray | talk | 19:06, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WP:ADOPTYeah I am quite happy, we have gone from less than 100 users involved on the 5th Dec, to over 150 today 14th Dec - 50 users in less than ten days. It means that we are getting more known - maybe this helped - Template:Announcements/Community bulletin board see Collaborations. Now all we need to do is finish Adopter and Adoptee areas, and complete those Criteria - though they looks pretty good for consensus. My only concern is that we become too successful too quick and we end up with too many people wanting to be adopted and not enough adopters - but we certainly have not reached that stage yet - we keep increasing numbers of adopters. Oh well we can deal with that if it happens. :):) Lethaniol 11:07, 14 December 2006 (UTC) [edit] GoebbelsIn May you added some detailed material about Goebbels' early life, but none of it is sourced. I intend rewriting this article, most of which is most inadequate, and I would like to retain your section on his early life. Please go back and reference it, otherwise it will be deleted in my new version along with all other unreferenced material. This is now the standard for Wikipedia articles on serious topics. Adam 11:33, 14 December 2006 (UTC) [edit] Re: AdoptionPlease don't hesitate to offer suggestions to me or to anyone! I don't take offence to constructive criticism. I've been distracted tonight with vandal fighting and new page patrolling, so the userboxes slipped my mind. I'll do it now before I go off to bed. I clicked the wrong button in NPWatcher, and was forced to edit a custom summary. I should have used {{db-nonsense or such. Sorry about that! Tyson Moore es 00:23, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] GoebbelsThanks. I'm a little unhappy that your source for Goebbels having osteomyelitis rather than club foot as is commonly said is Shirer, who was not a professional historian and who was writing 47 years ago, although admittedly he was in Berlin in the 1930s and might be expected to know. Are you aware of any more recent sources? Is there anything in the medical literature about Goebbels? Adam 00:09, 17 December 2006 (UTC) OK I will go with that. Some questions so that I phrase this correctly: Is club foot the correct medical term for that condition? Is it always congenital? So if a deformity of the foot is not congenital, it is always incorrect to call it club foot? What would be the correct medical description of Goebbels's condition if it was caused by osteomyelitis? Adam 00:27, 17 December 2006 (UTC) Thanks for that. There are plenty of sources for the effects of Goebbels's disability on his psychology, particularly his worship of physical power and his desire to dominate. Can it be coincidence that both Stalin and Kaiser Wilhelm suffered from similar, minor but humiliating, physical deformities? Adam 00:52, 17 December 2006 (UTC) Since you are a doctor with an interest in the Nazi period, you might like to read my rewrite of Action T4 and tell me what you think. Adam 01:01, 17 December 2006 (UTC) Sorry, further questions:
