[edit] Sustained Mumblings

Helping to edit Wikipedia has taught me one thing: Never blindly trust anything you read here. It's sort of like people who work at a restaurant, and therefore know enough not to eat there. However, with Wikipedia becoming a relied-upon source of information for many, many people, it'd be irresponsible not to try and spruce things up a bit. I believe it to be a justifiable use of my time.

In a former life, I worked as a proofreader and reporter for some small weekly newspapers in and around my home town. Proofreading was a good fit for me, as I've always gained some sadistic joy upon discovering and correcting mistakes. And then the job nearly drove me insane.

But, you know, I still get the itch sometimes. So that's mostly what I do around here. I bounce around, correcting grammar and spelling on sight (The amount of real effort put into this pursuit, however, is directly related to how much I'm being paid.) Occasionally I'll get Medieval on some POV. Maybe check out some AfDs (To paraphrase John Lennon: "Give stubs a chance!"). New Page Patrol is always good for a chuckle or two. Lately I've been adding infoboxes for various books, mostly those that I've read and enjoyed.

Woo-hoo! Wikipedia is the anarcho-info-party of the century, baby! Get loose and add to the "sum of all human knowledge!" Yeah! Hell Yeah! (P.S.: I may or may not have been drunk whilst posting this edit. Thought you oughtta know.)

[edit] Done

  • The Butterfly Kid. It's my first article, and it's about... a psychedelic science fiction novel. Oh, lordy.
  • Warheads (confectionery). I didn't create the article, but I did help hold off those Durn Deletionists by expanding the page and adding sources to affirm its notability. The result of the AfD debate was Keep.

[edit] To do:

  • Zoar Valley. I can't believe there isn't an article on this place. It's so Notable, it hurts.
  • Get off this surprisingly addictive site and spend a little more time reading.

When I was very young, my parents took away my Sandbox on account of me constantly flinging sand at the house.
