How does one define the notability of a webcomic, really?--Vercalos 00:42, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

  • See WP:WEB for the notability guidelines for web sites. It's a place to start. –Abe Dashiell (t/c) 01:21, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
That's something of a fallacy, really. A webcomic isn't just some random personal website, but a work of fiction. And heck, we have articles on random Middle-Earth rivers, for crying out loud... --Keolah 01:34, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Nevertheless, it is the standard by which webcomic deletion nominations are often judged. If you want to challenge an AfD it is in your best interest to familiarize yourself with the guidelines. –Abe Dashiell (t/c) 02:02, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] {{prod}} and {{notability}} removed

The prod was removed, but I wouldn't bother with an AfD. Though stronger deletionists still resist the idea, for the most part Keenspot-hosted comics are regarded as meeting WP:WEB #7. If you have any doubt, read through WT:WEB and also take a look at the AfD track record of Keenspot comics on Wikipedia:WikiProject Webcomics/Deletion. They typically end in Keep or No Consensus, so nominating one is just a waste of everyone's time. I also removed the {{notability}} template because it does mention Keenspot. It could use some more sourcing perhaps, though. –Abe Dashiell (t/c) 19:52, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

AD, but what of the low Alexa rank (273,809)? - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 20:18, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Alexa was once a criteria mentioned in WP:WEB, but it proved too controversial and was removed. People still quote Alexa numbers, and sometimes they can be useful as a general gauge, but if you take a look at most of our recent webcomic AfDs, their Alexa ratings were in the millions or were so high as to be unranked. –Abe Dashiell (t/c) 20:35, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
OK, no AfD. Thanks. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 20:47, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Add to 'Fictional anti-heroes' category?

Just wondering whether the protagonist clearly being the titular anti-hero of the webcomic, whether the page should be added to Category:Fictional anti-heroes, or whether said category would be for character pages only? -Masamunemaniac 13:07, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
