Antonio Vega

Antonio Vega is a popular fictional character on the long-running American soap opera One Life To Live. The role was originated in 1995 by Kamar de los Reyes, who left in 1998, returned in 2000 and has been portraying the character ever since.
As a member of the prominent Vega family, many would consider Antonio one of the most successful Latino characters ever to be portrayed on an American daytime drama. This could be true in part because of his front-burner status in recent years, thanks to his pairings with college professor Keri Reynolds (Sherri Saum) and town newspaper heiress Jessica Buchanan (Bree Williamson).
However, there are also fans who would disagree with this assessment, largely because of the character's temper and hero complex. Antonio has also had a fair share of poorly-received storylines, the biggest most likely being a story in 2004 where Antonio discovered that the new town villain Tico Santi (Javier Morga) was actually his brother and that Carlotta (Patricia Mauceri) and Cristian Vega (Yorlin Madera, David Fumero) were really his biological aunt and cousin. This complete change in the character's history confused fans and the arrival of the Santi family, Tico, Angelina (Saundra Santiago), and Sonia (Lisa Lo Cicero) received negative attention from critics and fans alike.
Recently, Antonio married Jessica on November 9, 2006, despite her feelings for Nash Brennan, the father of her daughter, Bree.
