Antonio Nappa was a character played by Mark Margolis on the HBO dramatic series Oz, which took place in an experimental prison unit. Nappa was an Italian mob boss sentenced to Oz for killing a man in a strip bar. Taking control after Peter Schibetta is sent to the psych ward, Nappa gets the Italians back into the groove and runs the kitchen. He partners with Kenny Wangler to sell drugs and is often advised by Chucky Pancamo on how to do things. Nappa is then infected with AIDS by Adebisi and his life is then ruined.

[edit] Season 2

Nappa first arrives in Oz being told by both Warden Glynn and Tim McManus that he cannot commit revenge against the man who raped Peter Schibetta. As Schibetta's actual godfather, he goes to the Italian staff member Lenny Burrano and asks him what Simon Adebisi, Schibetta's rapist, values most. Nappa wants Adebisi to lose this so he gets Burrano to tell Glynn that a random drug test should be conducted and it turns out not to be so random when Adebisi is hand picked by Burrano. Off of drugs, Adebisi wants to murder the Italians until an inmate named Kip-Kemi Jara gets him not to do this. Without Adebisi, the Homeboys are no longer a threat so Nappa steals their drugs so they can come and work for him. Even though in a meeting with the Homeboys, inmate Junior Pierce berates Nappa with Ethnic slurs, he comes to an agreement with Kenny Wangler to work as partners. Wangler must however kill Jara so the Italians can once again control Adebisi.

[edit] Season 3

The Italians with Wangler's crew run drugs in Oz and see that Simon Adebisi is coming out of the psych ward. Adebisi apologizes to Nappa and Nappa believes that if Adebisi is sincere that he can be of value to the Italians after all. However, Adebisi goes to work in the AIDS ward and stabs Nappa with a HIV infected needle without his knowledge. In the kitchen, Wangler's friend and fellow Homeboy Malcolm Coyle wishes to be in on the drug trade but Nappa has a bad feeling about him and fires him from the kitchen crew. Nappa turns out to be right when Augustus Hill turns Coyle in for murdering an Italian family member on the outside. Fearing revenge from Wangler, Kareem Said calls a meeting of the Italian, Latino, and Aryan heads to protect Hill from the Homeboys. Nappa is most enthusiastic about helping Said and goes one further by killing Coyle. Later Adebisi and he have a conversation about homosexuality where Nappa shows his disgust for the practice. Shortly afterwards Nappa is told by Dr. Nathan and his own doctors that he is HIV positive, so he is moved to Unit E, the AIDS ward. He decides to publish an autobiography which would focus on mob activity. The gay inmates alert Chucky Pancamo about this and Pancamo pays one of them, named Nat Ginzburg, to murder Nappa. Nat suffocated Nappa in his sleep later that night.
