Antonieta Gonzalez Collins

Antonieta Gonzalez Collins (born in 1985) is a Mexican football (soccer) player and the daughter of the well known television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonieta Gonzalez Collins became known to the Hispanic public in the United States, and to readers in Latin America, when she revealed, in her mother's book titled "Cuando el Monstruo Despierta" ("When the Monster Awakes") that she had been a victim of domestic violence and psychological abuse by a former boyfriend.

In 1992, her mother was called up by Spanish language TV channel Univision to become lead reporter on their national news show, so Gonzalez Collins moved to Miami, Florida, where her life as the child of a celebrity intensified, as she spent most of her afternoons at the television channel's studio, and she met such famous people as Jorge Ramos and many others. She got along particuolarly well with Ramos, who played with her as if he was playing with a daughter of his own.
