Antoine Nguyen Van Thien

Antoine Nguyên Van Thien, born March 13, 1906, is the oldest living bishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

Born in Cai Côn, Viêt Nam, he was ordained a priest on February 20, 1932. He was appointed Bishop of Vinh Long in November, 1960 and ordained in January the following year. Van Thien resigned that position in 1968 and was appointed Titular Bishop of Hispellum the same month. Bishop Antoine Nguyen Van Thien became the oldest living bishop of the Roman Catholic Church on October 6, 2005, with the death of Ettore Cunial at the age of 99.

On March 13, 2006, Van Thien reached the age of 100.
