Antimatter is a band formed by Duncan Patterson, former bass player and songwriter of Anathema, and Mick Moss. This project steps away from the heavy metal genre and presents a more melancholic, ambient atmosphere, continuing in the vein of Alternative 4, Patterson's last album with Anathema. Antimatter places focus on rhythm, melodic vocal lines, and dark electronic dubs, and balances on the borderline between goth and trip hop.
In 2004, shortly after the completion of Planetary Confinement, Duncan left the band. Mick has stated that he will release at least one more album under the name Antimatter, Leaving Eden, in late 2006.
