Anthony Morris (II)

Anthony Morris (b. March 1682, London, England; d. 23 September 1763, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was a merchant, judge, assemblyman, and Mayor of Philadelphia.

Morris was a prominent member of the Society of Friends in Philadelphia. From 1737, he served as an associate justice of the city court. He sat for several sessions as a member of the assembly, and in 1738 was chosen mayor. He was re-elected in 1739, but chose not to serve.

His father, also named Anthony, was also a mayor of Philadelphia.
