Ansel Briggs

Ansel Briggs (b. February 3, 1806, Shoreham, Vermont – d. May 5, 1881, Omaha, Nebraska) was the first governor of Iowa, from 1846 to 1850.

Although he was originally buried in Omaha, Nebraska he was re-interred in 1909 in the Andrew Cemetery, Andrew, Iowa
