Anne Provoost

Anne Provoost (born 1964 in Poperinge, Belgium) is a Flemish author who lives in Antwerp, Belgium, with her husband and three children. She is known for remaking myths, folk tales, fairy tales, and bible stories. She studied literature at the University of Leuven (Louvain).
Once a year, she writes a letter to Hans Christian Andersen answering one of his stories. Apart from being a novelist, Provoost also writes essays on literature and literature for children, as well as short stories. She is presently working on a play.
Her work, originally published in Dutch, has been translated into at least 12 languages, among them German, English, Danish, Swedish and Portuguese. "Falling" is her most famous book, having won five Literary prizes in Europe
