Anna Neda of Serbia

Anna Neda of Serbia was the daughter of King Stefan Uroš II Milutin of Serbia and Princess Anna of Bulgaria, daughter of George I of Bulgaria. She is also the first wife of Tsar Michael Shishman of Bulgaria. From this marriage they have three sons - Ivan Stephen of Bulgaria, Michael and Shishman. In 1324 Michael Shishman divorces Anna Neda in order to marry Theodora of Byzantium. Anna Neda and her children were send out of Turnovo into the country side. In 1330 Michael Shishman died and was succeeded by his first born son Ivan Stephen of Bulgaria. Anna Neda rules Bulgaria between 1330 - 1331 as a regent for her son.
