Ankola

Ankola is a Taluk (administrative subdivision) in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state, India. A small town by any standard surrounded by numerous temples. People speak Kannada and Konkani.
Ankola is famous for its native breed of mango called ishaad.
Among many beaches, it has a famous beach called Belikeri Beach.

Ankola is also home to very famous temple of Lakshminarayana Mahamaya Temple,which is the chief deity of many Goud Sarawat Brahmins belonging to South Canara and Udupi Districts.
It is well connected to bangalore,mangalore,goa - by bus and train. Konkan railways operates fairly regular services.
