Ankawa (Assyrian: ܥܢܟܒܐ) is an Iraqi town of about 20,000 people, in practice a suburb of Arbil, in the Northern Kurdish region. The town is predominantly Christian, who are Chaldean and Assyrian.^{[citation needed]}
