Anita Rani

Anita Rani is a Radio and Television Presenter and journalist in the United Kingdom
Born in Bradford, England in 1977 to parents from the Punjabi Sikh community, she spent her childhood living in the town of her birth.
She developed an early interest in journalism, hosting her first show at the age of 14 and later studying Broadcasting at the University of Leeds. After leaving university she worked as a researcher for the BBC and other organisations. From 2003 she occasionally presented the Sonia Deol Show on the BBC Asian Network, before becoming presenter of the Hot Breakfast Programme on the same network in March 2005. On 24 April 2006 she began presenting the morning talkback programme previously known as the Sonia Deol Show that airs from 09:00 to 12:00 on weekdays, since retitled simply as Anita Rani.
Anita Rani has also been a co-presenter of Desi DNA, an Arts program on BBC TWO, and on the Cricket AM show on Sky Sports from 20 May 2006[1].
It has been announced that Anita will be leaving the Morning debate show in early March next year, but remaining a presenter on the BBC Asian Network and will be covering for Anita Anand on the late evening weekday show on BBC Radio Five Live called Anita Anand. [2]
