The Anime Network, a subsidiary of A.D. Vision, Inc. (parent company of ADV Films and Newtype USA) is the first cable channel in North America dedicated to anime. The network launched in North America in late 2002 and is being marketed to multi-system operators (MSOs) from coast-to-coast as both a stand-alone 24-hour linear network and as a VOD programming service. Many cable companies from coast to coast have started to incorporate the network into their channel line-ups.
DirecTV added Anime Network on channel 177 on February 1, 2006 as part of a test run. Zooropa added Anime Network to their mobile phone service February 10, 2006.

    • DirecTV As of the end of March 2006 DirecTV no longer offers Anime Network PPV as a service.This was a part of a trial run done by DirecTV. They will announce later on the future of The Anime Network on DirecTv. Information on this can be found on The Anime Network's forum on their website.
