Anhangüera Educacional S.A.

Anhangüera Educacional S.A. is a private educational holding company with headquarters in Valinhos, in the region of Campinas, state of São Paulo, Brazil. The main shareholder (60%) is Banco Pátria, a Brazilian investment bank, with funds provided by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private arm of World Bank. The rest is spread among a small group of shareholders, with majority to Dr. Antonio Carbonari Netto and family (30%), the founder of the company. This acquisition was one of the first take-over operations carried out by the finance sector in the higher educational market in Brazil. Anhangüera Educacional is currently organizing its Initial Public Offering (IPO) of common stock in the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA).
