[edit] re: Gilbert Sinoué
Hi Angelikmeg! I responded to your question at Talk:Gilbert sinoue. --Commander Keane 07:25, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your wonderful translation! I am very impressed with your hard work. To save it from speedy deletion you only need to remove the template, but I have done that for you. I also put it in one category, maybe you can think of others.
- Another tip: remember to sign your comments on talk pages, using

- I noticed that your original French version is more comprehensive that the current article in the French Wikipedia: Gilbert Sinoué. You might consider adding your material to the French version.--Commander Keane 10:08, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re: update french version
That's a very good idea. Will work on it. --Angelikmeg 16:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Wikiethics
Hi,
We started a proposal Wikipedia:Wikiethics to state the existing policies coherently and make suggestions on improving the editorial standards in Wiki. I thought you might be interested in contributing to that proposal.
Unfortunately, a pro-porn and pro-offense lobby is trying to make this proposal a failure. They unilaterally started an approval poll although almost no one including me believe that it is time for a vote, simply because the policy is not ready. It is not even written completely.
Editors who thinks that the policy needs to be improved rather than killed by an unfair poll at the beginning of the proposal, started another poll ('Do we really need a poll at this stage?') at the same time. The poll is vandalized for a while but it is stable now. A NO vote on this ('Do we really need a poll now?') poll will strengthen the position of the editors who are willing to improve the ethics policy further.
If you have concerns about the ethics and editorial standards in Wiki, please visit the page Wikipedia:Wikiethics with your suggestions on the policy. We have two subpages: Arguments and Sections. You might want to consider reviewing these pages as well...
Thanks in advance. Resid Gulerdem 21:26, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues
Well, the website indicates that all rights are reserved, so without proof that the Forum is happy to release their work irrevocably either into the public domain or under the terms of the Gnu Free Documentation License, Wikipedia can't use the material. I will send an email to the contact address on the website seeking email confirmation of permission. They will need to reply within 7 days in the affirmative. -Splashtalk 02:12, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- I have BCC'd you on your your Yahoo! address on a standard confirmation request to the contact address on the website. -Splashtalk 02:31, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- Done. I've forwarded the mail to the Wikimedia Foundation who will archive it for future reference. -Splashtalk 16:42, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- I can give you a hand inserting pictures if you get stuck. You start at Special:Upload. One thing to be careful over is the licensing of the images. Like text, they are best when free (ie GFDL or public domain). But Wikipedia does accept fair-use images as long as you can write a fair use rationale for each one. (It does not allow fair-use of text usually.) If you're at all unsure of this, give me a shout. -Splashtalk 01:38, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Are you Moroccan
Hi Angelikmer! I am just curious to know if you are a Moroccan. Cheers -- Szvest 15:18, 25 March 2006 (UTC) Wiki me up™
- Hi FayssalF, Yes, I am. Now, my turn to be curious, which article tipped you off? I am not sure on which page I should post my reply, yours or mine...--Angelikmeg 16:29, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- You can post your answer wherever you like as long as we would communicate more with eachother. It was the info about Missour. -- Szvest 09:37, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- I think we are already communicating :-). The info on Missour could have been done by anyone who loves birds and loves Morocco, it doesn't necessarily mean the person who wrote that is Moroccan. It was a wild guess you made and I simply confirmed it. Smart. Feel free to drop a line or 2 or 3 anytime. Cheers --Angelikmeg 01:35, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Translation of Abraham Serfaty
What you have done with Abraham Serfaty is fine. The article in the French Wikipedia is licenced under GFDL - so we are allowed to copy it. However, it would be nice to leave a note on the talk page (Talk:Abraham Serfaty) explaining where the material came from. You could also list it at Wikipedia:Translation_archive.--Commander Keane 22:14, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, it's in the translation archive now, thank you so much for your help and precious advices. I knew I could count on you! however, I didn't start the talk page for the article as the french version does cite the source, and since there is a link to the french version in the english version anyways, I thought it would only be a repetition. Thanks again --Angelikmeg 23:09, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] L
anonymous attacker
-
- ok user:Shadin, I know it was you who left this weird thing. What are the "anonymous attacker" and the "L" for? I know you will check it out my page, but this time you've got to leave me a real message, you know, the kind of messages with 1 or 2 full sentences.
- And remember to sign your messages. Thanks --20:54, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] hassan/cadets
hi, and thank you for a long comment. i have no problem with writing this into the article, but it should be sourced, and also noted that its just one version of what happened. and i still have some problems believing a military unit holding the royal court hostage was not aware of what it was doing... but again, thanks for the info. Arre 15:40, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- hi again,
- i'm not dismissing anything, i'm just saying that if this theory should be in the article, it should be a) sourced and b) presented as one possible version of events, not as revealed truth. you've apparently got the sources covered now, so go ahead.
- as for what i personally believe, i'm sure there were different levels of understanding of the operation among the cadets. but among the people who gave orders to seize the palace, and among the people who were actually machine-gunning court notables, there must have been a fair number who understood that that amounted to a military coup. they weren't infants.
- but, that said, of course there is NO justification for the barbarism that was tazmamart. as far as i'm concerned, a military coup was neither more nor less democratic than hassan's own continued rule; i'm not partial in that issue.
- and as before, thanks for your comment. i appreciate that you feel strongly about this, for whatever reason, but i don't think we are disagreeing really. i'm not at all opposed to having this in the article, just the way it was first proposed. Arre 12:57, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- no problem, sounds fine. you just edit it in, and tell me afterwards. if there's any problems, well deal with it then! best regards, Arre 09:34, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels
Hi thank you for joining the WikiProject. There is still plenty of scope for influencing things and making your contribution count. We are about establishing standards for Novel based articles and writing articles that meet our own and others high standards, and to improve Wikipedia's diet of articles on Fiction books, otherwise called Novels. If you have any questions, do ask. Please be very welcome. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page) 08:49, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re: Picture upload
I looked at the image; you have given it a PD tag and say you have an email from the copyright owner proving this. That sounds find. You might forward the email to permissions @ wikimedia dot org, so that the Foundation has proof of the copyright status. If you do not actually have proof of the copyright status, an assertion isn't enough, since Wikimedia/Wikipedia needs to be certain of the status of its own content. -Splashtalk 15:04, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
