Anglican Coalition in Canada

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Anglican Coalition in Canada (ACiC) is a Canadian religious group somewhat analogous to the Anglican Mission in America. It is under the jurisdiction of Archbishop Emmanuel Kolini of Rwanda. Most of the parishes used to be in the Diocese of New Westminster; the remainder are located in Saskatchewan. The group was formed a month after the New Westminster synod voted to allow the blessing of same sex unions.

The denomination was founded in July 2002 as the Anglican Communion in Canada[1]. However, in 2005, Corporations Canada required ACiC to change its name, since the Anglican Church of Canada is the "Anglican Communion in Canada"[2].
