Angie Sage

Angie Sage is the author of the Septimus Heap trilogy, Magyk, Flyte, and Physik (to be published in April, 2007). She is also the illustrator and/or writer of many children's books, and is the new writer of Araminta Spookie series.

Angie Sage grew up in Thames Valley, London and Kent. Her father was a publisher. He would bring home blank books that she could fill with pictures and stories. Sage first studied medicine, but changed her mind and went to Art School in Leicester. There she studied Graphic Design and Illustration. She began illustrating books after college. Then she progressed to writing children stories, including toddler books and chapter books. Her first novel was Septimus Heap: Magyk.

Angie Sage lives in Cornwall, overlooking a creek. She owns her own boat, and enjoys watching the oyster boats pass by. Angie Sage has two daughters, Laurie and Lois. She has stated that her house has three shy "ghosts" that live with her.

- Angie Sage's boat is named "Muriel", which is also the name of the boat belonging to the owner of the boatyard in Magyk. She says that the boat looks just like the one described in the story, except that hers has a motor.
