Angelo Gnaedinger

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Angelo Gnaedinger has been the Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross since 1 July 2002. He was born in 1951, trained to become a lawyer, and served as magistrate of Schaffhausen. He joined the ICRC in 1984 and worked in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe before assuming the directorship.[1] Illness has limited his activity since 2004, and Director of Operations Pierre Kraehenbuehl has assumed many of his responsibilities.
