Angel of Hope is the sequel to Lurlene McDaniel's young adult novel Angel of Mercy.

Heather Barlow, the main character in Angel of Mercy, has returned from her missionary trip. Upon her return home, she immediately wishes to return to Africa. In this book her sister Amber goes in her place on the return trip to Africa when Heather falls ill. Amber confronts many sights that she isn't used to, and later faces a crisis that tests her beyond anything she had ever previously faced.
