[edit] Description

Angel is a pink female experiment with a strong resemblance to Stitch. She has two long tendril-like violet-tipped antennae, violet-tipped ears, small eyelashes, and a white V-shaped symbol resembling a necklace on her chest (meaning "villain").

[edit] History

Angel first appears in her namesake episode. Gantu captured her prior to the events of the episode and purposely leads her to Lilo and Stitch, acting as if he's trying to catch her to trick them into taking her in. Lilo is initially suspicious of 624 (naming her "Angel" in sarcasm), but Stitch, developing a crush on her, insists that she is good. Lilo tries to find out what Angel was created for, but not before Angel sings her song to turn Jumba evil. When asked, Jumba lies and says that Angel was made to "pop popcorn for Jumba's movie night". After Lilo and Stitch leave, Jumba gives the contents of his experiment database to Angel, which she in turn gives to Gantu. The next day Angel sings her song to Stitch to try to turn him evil, but runs away when she finds it doesn't work. Stitch chases her throughout the island and tries to impress her with various romantic acts. Meanwhile, Angel is finding the rehabilitated experiments and turning them evil. She eventually leads Stitch to the top of Mount Waialeale, where Gantu and the recaptured evil experiments lie in wait inside a concealed space ship. Stitch falls for Angel's trap and is captured. Lilo eventually finds out that Angel is working for Dr. Hämsterviel and uses Jumba's computer to play a recording of Angel's song backwards and turn Jumba back to good. They rush to Mount Waialeale to rescue Stitch, but get there just as the space ship takes off. Gantu, in celebration of his success, tells the evil experiments to attack the heartbroken Stitch. Helpless in their clutches, Stitch says goodbye to Angel, still calling her "boochie-boo" (a term of endearment). Horrified, Angel realizes her feelings for Stitch and sings her song backwards to turn the experiments back to good. The experiments work together with Stitch to bring the ship back to Earth. When Stitch and Lilo are reunited, Stitch tells her that he didn't defeat Angel, but she was the one who saved him. Lilo finally accepts Angel and Stitch's relationship with her. Unfortunately, Gantu captures Angel and has her sent to Dr. Hämsterviel. The episode ends with Lilo promising Stitch that they'll bring her back one day.

In "Snafu," Lilo asks Stitch if he still remembers Angel. He shows her that he's not only remembered, he's made a small hidden shrine to her. When Nosy tells them that Angel and 16 other experiments were sent back to Gantu because Dr. Hämsterviel could not continue to keep them in his prison cell (an event that happens in "Whoops"), Lilo and Stitch decide to form a rescue party. Meanwhile, 625 tricks Angel into singing her song so he and Gantu can use the recording to make the rehabilitated experiments evil again. Lilo's rescue party makes it into Gantu's ship, but Snafu fouls up their plan and traps the party in glass capsules. Dejected, Stitch takes this opportunity to tell Angel that he loves her. Angel's excitement allows her to smash open their capsules, and the two are reunited. At the end of the episode she and Stitch are seen walking off into the sunset, hand-in-hand.

Angel also appears in Leroy & Stitch, having been captured by Leroy along with the other 624 experiments. During the battle in Aloha Stadium she helps Stitch fight off a group of Leroy clones and then blows him a kiss. Later, she has a cameo with all the others when their group photo is taken.

[edit] Other Appearances

  • Angel appears in the game Lilo & Stitch 2: Hamsterviel Havoc for Game Boy Advance, where her song is once again used to turn experiments evil. Because her role contradicts the events in her two starring episodes, it is questionable if this game can be considered canon to the Lilo & Stitch universe.
  • She appears in a dream sequence during the episode "Remmy," where Angel dances in a conga line with several other experiments.

[edit] Abilities

Angel was created to sing a song that turns someone from good to evil. However, it only works on someone who was formerly evil. She can also turn them good again by singing her song in reverse. A recording of her song will work just as well as her voice, even if it's electronically reversed. Experiments made after her, such as Reuben (625), Stitch (626), 627, 628, and Leroy are immune to her song.

The lyrics of Angel's song are as follows:

Acoota
Chi-meeto
igatta
no mootah,
Naggatong
nala
itume
te dooka.

It is unknown if Angel has a second set of retractable arms like Stitch and many other experiments have, but her long antennae can be used like limbs to press buttons and reach distant objects. She is also proficient in martial arts, which she demonstrates in Leroy & Stitch by fighting off a mob of Leroy clones. In "Snafu," she and Stitch shatter the sealed glass containers they had been captured in by headbutting them, though it's unknown why none of the other experiments had tried (or succeeded at) this method of escaping before.

[edit] Continuity Errors

  • Her back pattern constantly changes. In "Angel," it is an upside-down heart. In "Snafu," it looks like Stitch's, but disappears in some scenes. In Leroy & Stitch, she does not have one at all.
  • Her claws randomly appear. In Leroy & Stitch, when she first fought the Leroys, she didn't have them, but she does when she jumps and lands in front of the remaining two clones. Although, some explain and justify this by claiming that her claws are retractable, like Stitch's.

[edit] Trivia

  • Angel shares her name with Scamp's crush (possibly girlfriend) in Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure.
  • Angel's one true place is never revealed. However, it is assumed that she remains with Stitch (this subject is the focal point of many fan fiction stories).
  • Angel has a soft Scottish accent.
  • In the Finnish version of the television series her name is Seireeni, meaning Siren.
  • Angel is a parody of Lorelei the Siren, as her song is an evil in the guise of beauty, much like the Sirens of ancient myth.
