[edit] Image Tagging Image:Porcupinetree2000.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Porcupinetree2000.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey 14:55, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary
Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 43% for major edits and 35% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 103 minor edits in the article namespace.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 09:00, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use images
I have removed several fair use images from your user page. Unfortunatly it is wikipedia policy that fai ruse images are only allowed in main article space. As the legality of using fair use images on user pages is doubtful at best. --Martyman-(talk) 01:08, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Heysel edit
yo, glad to see the contributions towards the Heysel article :) One note though: be careful when you move the references around the page as you can (and did) break them. Basically I've used the same site to reference a few facts and if you move the first citation below the second, for instance, then the references at the bottom of the page will be broken. I've fixed it now, just thought I'd point it out... aLii 14:31, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Goalcelebrationearnshaw.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Goalcelebrationearnshaw.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Fair use
Your changes to Pola Ivanova were reverted. Please do not add copyrighted images to articles without including the mandatory hand-written detailed fair-use rationale, as the license indicates. Thanks. --Yamla 14:57, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ford Sporting League
Hi! I added some information to the article Ford Sporting League and am hoping it might lead you to reconsider your vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ford Sporting League. The Ford Sporting League was a profession league in England in the 1970s. It closed up shop after one season, but it did have some impact on football and perhaps more importantly, notable simply by it being a professional league in a major footballing nation. I’d be happy to discuss the issue further with you if you have any questions. Thanks! Vickser 00:14, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Browning (Texas politician)
Could you please take another look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Browning (Texas politician)? I fixed the article James Browning (Texas politician) by replacing the hoax text with information from a number of sources on the real Texas politician by this name. I award you this barnstar for outstanding efforts to combat and revert vadalism by 217.205.250.130, the IP address of Solihull Borough Council, on the Elton John article on 27 September 2006. Regards, Trident13 12:29, 27 September 2006 (UTC) |
[edit] link to defender
Hello, when you want to link to the article about a defender, please do not link to defender, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as defender (football) by writing out [[defender (football)|defender]] Regards, -- Jeff3000 20:16, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Paulstalteri.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Paulstalteri.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Panarjedde 00:12, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
