The purpose of this "sandbox" is to merge combine biographical information from New Testament view on Jesus' life and Christian views of Jesus#Life for the purpose of creating a more complete article to replace the text at "NT view.." After the merge has been complete, the next step would be to make a summary, or more condensed, concise version to replace the text in the main Jesus article.--Andrew c 22:51, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Here is a good tip that I just used from Jesus and the Money Changers. The text from the intro paragraph is a pretty good synopsis of the narrative. I imagine other more indepth articles have similar condensed versions in the intro. This is good because it standardizes information throughout wikipedia, and means less work for us.--Andrew c 23:16, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

My only problem is that what we have on this page is already hugely condensed. What we've been doing, as there is little else to draw from, is taking Biblical stories and condensing them for the Jesus article. Sometimes these same stories are not even present in the NT views article. We need here to combine the Christian views bio and NT views bio into one somewhat uncondensed biography, then summarize it in the Jesus article. I don't think its a good idea to summarize a summary--most of what we have is bare facts anyway. —Aiden 21:59, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I am totally confused. How can you say that the Jesus bio section is "hugely condensed" when it is the most detailed and indepth of the 3. Why combine just the Christian view's bio and the NT views bio, and ignore the Jesus bio (which, IMO, is the most detailed, and best written). My proposal was to combine all 3. And what I have already done, is to include even more information not found in any of the 3, but instead in the more in depth articles found in the Template:Gospel Jesus. My purpose is to create a bio of Jesus, that is more in depth than what is there now, but less in depth than the individual topical articles (linked from the template). This bio will go in the NT views article. The Christian views article won't have a bio. And the Jesus article will have a summarized version of the NT view article. For the most part, I think we are on the same page, but a couple of your comments confused me so I want to clear things up if possible.--Andrew c 23:16, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I think the Gospels say that Jesus was much more than a "tavelling rabbi". —Aiden 13:10, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

This was the original sentence from Christian views of Jesus: In his ministry, Jesus travelled as a wandering rabbi and performed miracles and exorcisms.diff. The version I had to start with didn't mention anything in the opening about his 'ministry' per se, instead it just mentioned his miracles, so I attempted to combine the two. I am not set on the wording or anything, but I think its just as important to mention his preaching as it is his miracles, in the opening paragraph to that section. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your version of a condensed bio! Thanks for your contributions.--Andrew c 13:48, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Andrew, please take a look at the sandbox page now. I've made somewhat of a hybrid between your condensed version and what I would do. —Aiden 14:33, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

When are we planning on implementing this version? —Aiden 15:23, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I just went through and combined a large number of references and made footnotes and such. I think this is ready to go live so more editors can see it and edit it. I'll check to see if there were any changed in the main article text in the past 2 weeks, so I can update this page if necessary.--Andrew c 18:10, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
I looked over it and everything looks good. I do not like the changes that have been made to the Genealogy and Family sections on the main page so I am not going to raise Caine about replacing that section with what we have here. —Aiden 18:41, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
