With respect to page editing and new content, my main areas of interest in Wikipedia are the Olympic Games and the National Hockey League.
My main motivations are to:
- improve data accuracy
- complete missing sections
- improve consistency between related pages
- improve readability and aesthetic appearance
- improve page maintainability through the use of appropriate templates and table structures
- remove bias from articles where a neutral point of view is not presented or weasel words are used
Some things I believe:
- templates are a wonderful tool for maintaining consistency across similar pages
- the "Show preview" button should be used a LOT
- visual appearance is important! Colors and table styles ought to be chosen carefully. Tables should be designed to work for all common screen sizes and all common font sizes.
- userboxes are harmless but I will never use them
- edit counts are a poor measure of Wikipedia contributions
