[edit] Hecatomb
Hecatomb was formed in 1998 in Darlington, WI. The band released two demos, Dead Sea(1999), and Precious Mind Fuck(2000). After the exit of Stauffacher, the band had great difficulty finding a replacement. The band had several productive writing sessions but due to positions unfulfilled, the band disbanded in 2005. Three of the four members of Hecatomb have went on to form Crimson Head, a local bar band.

Five songs were written in anticipation of a third relase. The demo's working title "Soul Razor" showed a more evolved and focused group. The release didn't see the light of day, and will never be released for Hecatomb. The songs are being revised and released for Soper, and the McKillip brothers new band, Narsillion .

Precious Mind Fuck was recorded in Darlington, WI. The band was reunited with Ben Woyack, and did the recordings in Mark McKillip's jam room. New guitarist Gregg Hionis offered a new dynamic to the band, adding high speed solos, and guitar trickery. Due to reasons undisclosed, the band did not heavily promote the release. Interior feelings of doubt and apathy lead on to the demo being forgotten entirely.
[edit] Trivia
-Former Hecatomb Guitarist Gregg Hionis is the guitarist for the Christian Rock band Day of Fire
-The band's origins go back to 1997 with Andrew Soper, Mitch Mckillip, and Kevin Harwick.
[edit] End of Hecatomb
Over the next few years, the band would be reunited with original guitarist Andrew Soper, but would see the exits of Jed Stauffacher, and Lucas McGranahan. Hecatomb continued to build its library, but finally called it quits in the summer of 2005. Crimson Head was formed, and brought Stauffacher back into the fold. The band headlined the Beowulf Summer Party in 2006, and performed it in 2005.
