There may be a connection between the Bechers and a reflowering of the Neue Sachlichkeit movement, but if there is it must be distinguished from the earlier movement of the 1920s and 1930s. I am not an expert on this area, so I cannot say. The article as a whole should be expanded upon by someone with a good knowledge of Gursky's work.
