Andy Lee (boxer)

Andy Lee (born June 11, 1984 in London, Great Britain) is an Irish boxer from Limerick, who won the bronze medal at the 2004 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Pula, Croatia.
Lee competed in the middleweight (75kg) category and made it to the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. There he beat his opponent Alfredo Angulo Lopez from Mexico (38-23) in the first round. In round two he finished level (27-27) with Hassan Ndam Njikam of Cameroon, however he went out of the competition on a count-back.
After the Summer Olympics Lee became a professional, under the guidance of trainer-manager Emanuel Steward. He is considered a rapidly rising star in the sport.
