Andy Duncan (footballer)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Andy Duncan (born 20 October 1977 in Hexham, Northumberland) is an English footballer who is currently a key member of Cambridge United F.C.'s first team, playing as a central defender. He stands at 180cm (5'11").
He started his football career at Manchester United, but made no appearances and was loaned to Cambridge United on the 1998-01-09. The loan was turned into a permanent move in April 1998 for a fee of £20,000.
As of July 2005, he had played 285 matches for United, scoring 7 times. This is likely to increase in the coming season as Duncan, a first team regular since arriving at the Abbey Stadium, is now a senior player in Rob Newman's inexperienced side. Duncan, popular with fans and fellow professionals, finally committed himself to a further season in Cambridge after initially rejecting a new contract and having a trial at Bristol Rovers.
