Andy Baird (born 18th January 1979, East Kilbride, Scotland) is a non-league footballer who plays for Banbury United F.C.
At the age of 19, in 1998, Baird, a product of the Wycombe Wanderers youth academy began his first full season in the first team. He was a very valuable player to Wycombe when he wasn't injured. However, he seemed an injury liability and missed a number of games due to this. He was a key player to the team when they reached the FA Cup Semi-Finals in 2001. He was injured in the later stages of the tournament and Wycombe were eventually sent out by Liverpool. In the summer of 2002 he was released by the club because he was too prone to injuries.[1]
He joined Brackley Town where he found that a first team place was hard to come by. However, in 2005 he joined Banbury United where he has become an integral member of the team. He is capable of playing at centre forward or centre back.
