Andrew Whyment

Andrew "Andy" Whyment is a British actor, From 1999 until 2000, he appeared as Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC comedy The Royle Family. From 2001 he has played the role of Kirk Sutherland in the British soap opera Coronation Street. He was due to leave Corrie to appear in a new run of Carry On films, but cancelled this plan due to their delays. In 2006, he appeared in the ITV reality singing competition Soapstar Superstar and appeared as a celebrity darts player on the game show Bullseye in the Bronze Bully Round in one episode. Andy was supposed to appear at Banbury on the 26th November 2006 to swich on the Christmas lights, but disappointed fans by withdrawing at the last moment.

He used to live in Clifton, Manchester, but moved to Bolton with his family.
