Andrew Bernstein (born 29 June 1959) is an Objectivist philosopher and professor of philosophy at the State University of New York at Purchase. He has written the CliffsNotes for Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, The Fountainhead, and Anthem. Dr. Bernstein is the author of Heart of a Pagan, a novel, and of The Capitalist Manifesto: The Historic, Economic, and Philosophic Case for Laissez-Faire. He has lectured at Harvard University, Duke University, Yale University, Stanford University, the United States Military Academy, the University of Southern California, and elsewhere. He is affiliated with the Ayn Rand Institute, and is well known for his public defense of Ayn Rand's Objectivist philosophy, which espouses reason, egoism, and laissez-faire capitalism. He is currently a professor of philosophy at Marist College.
