Andreas Vinciguerra

Andreas Vinciguerra (born February 19, 1981 in Malmö) is a tennis player from Sweden, who turned professional in 1998. He was an impressive junior, winning the European junior championships and making the final of the junior Australian Open when he was 17, when he finished as the number 6 in the junior rankings.
The left-hander has won one singles title (2000, Copenhagen). He reached his highest singles ATP-ranking on November 5, 2001, when he became the number 33 in the world. Vinciguerra, who is of Italian origin, is nicknamed Vinci by his countrymen, and comes from same hometown as 1986 Roland Garros finalist Mikael Pernfors.
He has experienced significant problems with a back injury, but in 2006 is making a tentative comeback, which has seen him edge towards the top 100 in the ATP rankings.
