Andingmen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andingmen (Simplified Chinese: 安定门; Traditional Chinese: 安定門; pinyin: Āndìngmén; Manchu: Elhe toktoho duka) is the name of a gate in the former city wall of Beijing. It is currently a transportation node in northern urban Beijing and the old gate has been replaced by Andingmen Bridge, an overpass taking the form of a suspended roundabout. Andingmen means "Gate of Stability".

The current Andingmen Node is where the 2nd Ring Road converges with Andingmen Inner Street and Andingmen Outer Street and eventually Anding Road. Bus and trolleybus stops are nearby, along with Line 2 of the Beijing Subway stopping here.

Ju'er Hutong is a popular neighborhood for expats to live in. It's located in the hutongs southwest of Jiaodaokou, and just east of Houhai and Gulou (the Bell Tower).
