[edit] History
In 1938, some members of the Andhra Association (Kolkata Branch) felt their children should be taught Telugu, their mother tongue. At that time no school in Kolkata (then Calcutta) had Telugu Language in its curriculum. A modest collection of children were taught Telugu by a few enthusiastic ladies of the Telugu society. This unofficial and free school went on for some years, but not regularly or systematically.
As time went on people grew keen on a regular school. On 28th March,1953, a Primary School was founded with three classes. When the School began to gain strength and stability, other like-minded people of the region joined hands with the society and offered to help the growth of the School. Soon, Andhra Association School became broad based, where not only Telugu but other languages and subjects were taught too. Additional classes were added to allow further expansion. School was recognized as a Junior High School in 1958. By 1960, the Junior High School rose to be a High School.
West Bengal Board of Secondary Education recognized it as an unaided High School in 1965.
[edit] Instruction Medium and Subjects
