The Anderson Joes is a future team of the South Coast League, to be based in Anderson, South Carolina. The team will not be affilitated with Major or Minor League Baseball. They will play at Anderson Memorial Stadium, starting in the 2007 season.
The team is named after Shoeless Joe Jackson, a baseball legend who was born in Pickens County and made his home in Greenville. He was said to have gotten his nickname "Shoeless" while playing semipro baseball in Anderson.
