Andalusia is a region of Spain, of obscure etymology, possibly from Vandalusia - "the land of the Vandals" (the Germanic tribe that settled in southern Iberia before the arrival of the Moors; cf Al-Andalus, the Arabic name for the Iberian Peninsula).
