Andō Naotsugu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andō Naotsugu (安藤直次?) (1564-1635), the younger son of Andō Shigeyoshi, was a retainer under Tokugawa Ieyasu during Japan's Sengoku and early Edo periods. Naotsugu was present in many battles, such as the Battle of Anegawa, acting as a page under Tokugawa Ieyasu even though he was still a child.

In 1574 Naotsugu assisted the Tokugawa in a battle against the Takeda in the Totomi Province. When Naotsugu finally came of age, he fought in the Battle of Nagakute in 1584, becoming known as a very brave warrior. Later on in Tanabe in the Kii Province, Naotsugu was appointed as a feudal lord.
