Please see ancient weights and measures for previous edit history and discussions wrt this article.

Weights were based on units of 1/20, 1/10, 1/5, 1/2, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500, with each unit weighing approximately 28 grams.

How do we know that what here is being called 1/10 actually was 1/10 and not the unit itself? Maybe it was ½, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, etc., or 1, 2, 4, 10, 20, 40, etc.? Since we haven't deciphered their language, how can we know which weight was considered the unit? Nik42 07:11, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
