Ancient Ostra

Anciente Ostra was an ancient roman city located between the modern town of Ostra (AN) and Ostra Vetere in the region Marche, Italy.

People live there between the 3rd century BC and the 6th century.

It is hardly mentioned by ancient authors, but excavations have brought to light remains of various buildings and some inscriptions exist. Pliny mentions with it another ancient town, Suasa, 5 miles west which also did not survive the classical period.
