Ancient Melodies of the Future was the fifth full-length album released by indie rock band Built to Spill. At the time the album was recorded, the band consisted of singer/guitarist Doug Martsch, bassist Brett Nelson, and drummer Scott Plouf. Ancient Melodies was released on the Warner Bros. label on July 10, 2001.
