Kap Choeng (Thai: กาบเชิง) is a district (Amphoe) in the southern part of Surin Province, northeastern Thailand.

[edit] History

The village Ban Kap Choeng is about 200 years old. Originally, it was under Tambon Dan, Sangkha district. In 1937 it was moved to under Tambon Nong Yai, Prasat district. Later in 1963, it was moved to under Tambon Kap Choeng.

Tambon Kap Choeng and Ban Dai were put together to form a minor district (King Amphoe) in 1971. Tambon Khok Klang was added to the district in 1976, Tambon Dan and Khu Tan in 1977. Kap Choeng was upgraded to be full district on March 20th, 1979.
