Amido black 10B, also called Amidoschwarz, Naphthol blue black, Acid Black 1, and C.I. 20470, is an amino acid staining diazo dye used in criminal investigations to detect blood present with latent fingerprints. It stains the proteins in blood a blue-black color. Amido Black can be either methanol or water based as it readily dissolves in both. With picric acid, in a van Gieson procedure, it can be used to stain collagen and reticulin.

Its CAS number is [1064-48-8] [1] and its SMILES structure is OC1=C(C(N)=C (/N=N/C4=CC=C ([N+]([O-])=O)C=C4)C (S(=O)(O[Na])=O)=C3) C3=CC(S(=O)(O[Na])=O) =C1/N=N/C2=CC=CC=C2.
