You only need a unicode Ethiopic font (such as GF Zemen) in your computer's font folder, to be able to see Amharic fonts.

For information about editing using the "feedel" alphabet, see በፊደል ማቀነባበር በቀላሉ! (in Amharic)

[edit] Compatibility Issues (feel free to add to this page)

While playing with fonts for various international wiki's today, I downloaded a font for Devanagari (Indic) script called "raghu.ttf" - once in my font folder, it appeared as "raghindi.ttf"... It allowed me to see all the writing on the Sanskrit, Hindi and Marathi wikis perfectly...! (Instead of little squares, not that I can read that script anyway...) But then when I returned here, all the Ge'ez text that was either "bold" or "italic" showed up as "????"... So I moved raghindi.ttf out of my font folder again, and all the Ge'ez was restored immediately... So, if by chance you can see most of the Ge'ez writing, but a few of the words look like question marks, look to see if you have raghindi.ttf in your computer's font folder, and if so, simply move it to another folder!
