Robert Martin Sherwood Born June 8, 1937 In Chicago Illinois. Career broadcast newsman after a shaky start as a juvenile delinquent car thief, armed robber and alleged mafia associate. After serving five years in the Illinois State Penitentiary, Sherwood went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree at Southern Illinois University and moved into news broadcasting. It was one of the few success stories of its kind. Few people have been able to rise so far after such a dismal beginning. He worked for many years in radio and television in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and in San Francisco, eventually becoming a talk show host, news anchorman and, finally, Radio and Television News Director and regional Director for the Radio and Television News Director's Association. His broadcast career has spanned more than three decades.
